In Mesilla we spotted this beautiful minor Basilica, it dominates on side of the town square and is still a place of worship today. The day we visited it was closed, I would have loved to see the interior. It is a beautiful building and maintained in excellent condition.

Interesting Church with wood ceiling put on in 1960 and chapel carved by a Frenchman. This is not the site of the original Catholic church in Mesilla.

I attended Mass here while in town and the pastor was very personable and gave one of the best Homily's I have heard recently. The carvings and statues are worth stopping to see. The altar is breathtaking.

I loved hearing the bells chime the time as I wandered the streets of Old Mesillia Village. The church is right in the center and at the plaza so it is not hard to find.

Very nice and beautiful cathedral. It is sometimes closed. Inside is quite elegant and nice but not over the top.

Thought the church was OK, have seen more beautiful ones in Mexico. Lots of people there, parking in the back left of church.

You can walk into this church anytime. Just be mindful of where you are at. It is an old historic church that is a part of Old Mesilla, It is still in use by local parishioners. Very nice architecture. Very pleasing.

This is actually a minor basilica... beautifully renovated with a stunning altar and stain glass windows. Definitely worth the visit!
