We were on a week long camping trip thru New Mexico and my kids wanted to stay in Red River for a few days because they wanted to go to the Black Mountain Playhouse so bad. We had been there about 4 years ago and loved it. The place has really gone downhill. Only about 4 of the arcade games... More

The mini golf course is horrible don't waste your money. Rocks all over the putting area. Over grown weeds. Pine needles all over the place. Trash everywhere!

This was the hot spot back in the day. Kids flocked here for fun, it was an enjoyable hangout, and everyone loved it. They have a fantastic restaurant on one side, then the "playhouse" side looks dead. It seriously needs help. Please please please give kids and even adults a place to go have fun. We did not stay at the lodge, but ate dinner at the Black Diamond Grill before taking our kids to the Playhouse. The Grill was decent enough. Reasonable pricing, fair portions, decent food, great service and live music. The Playhouse, on the other hand ,was disappointing. The states are old and dusty. The roof leaked. The air hockey game was timed.... More

Roller skating area, billiard, great place to meet friends and have children go loose. Gathering place before torch light parade.

Growing up going to Red River The Playhouse was the place to be. Sadly it's mostly just pool tables now with a bunch of electronic games that have signs on them that say 'not plugged In', 'out of order' or 'plug this in and ride for free-then unplug'. What?! Lol The skating rink is ok but the skates were dirty... More

My family and my sister -in-law's family stayed at the newly renovated hacienda. It was spacious and furnished and large. Beds and bathrooms and amenities were great. The back two bedrooms share a wall with the roller rink and are loud. Far too loud to put children to bed before 10pm. Or midnight on New Year's Eve. The wifi was... More

Took kids when we needed a break from skiing. Never super busy but kids had fun playing pool and golf. Charged for each item so maybe they should just charge an entrance fee for all. Nothing fancy but maybe they are remodeling along the way.

This was a booming place when I was a kid. Now, many of the games do not work and the owner told the workers that they were not allowed to give refunds, yet there was no one there to deal with machine issues. This place has the ability to be a wonderful place for people to relax but they close... More
