A main drag with many hotels but not much else, in my view. The main tourist attraction now closed to the public (crash site of '47) it has lost its luster.

This is a downtown that caters to the UFO enthusiast but the shops have tired looking touristy knick knacks and there seem to be a lot of business that are boarded up. There are a couple of antique shops that are interesting and the UFO museum is downtown. Again, if you are into this stuff..... We have been downtown a... More

We thought this place was great but compared to the other reviews, this is what we were looking for... lots of aliens. So I agree if you're not going for the 1947 UFO experience, then you probably won't like it. We enjoyed the historic district and actually found the shops to be quite cheap and cute, friendly people and had... More

I don't know exactly how 'historic' downtown Roswell is, but I can account for it being unique. Perhaps it was just the time of week I visited, but I saw absolutely nobody on the streets. I was also honked at a few times. People in cars tended to stare. There are also few shops and all the workers seem surprised... More

Calling Downtown Roswell "Historic" is akin to calling MacDonalds "fine dining"....There are a few interesting Antique Stores. (I could spend a long time wandering around Bullit Bob's). That being said, prices in these places are pretty outrageous. (maybe it's a Tourist Season thing) I understand a small town attempting to cash in on the events of 1947 but with blowup... More

This town has completely embraced the whole UFO/alien thing. Everywhere we looked were green beings....hilarious!!

If you need to crash your spaceship, you'd be better off finding a different place in the many locales of New Mexico. There is little to be seen here beyond the storefront windows littered with kitschy green men made of plastic and Honduras t-shirts from Honduras.

This place is not a safe place to walk alone, especially at night. There isn't much to see anyway so you won't be missing much.

UFO's in shabby store fronts, not too interesting. I must have missed the historical neighborhood. I did enjoy the Art Museum and its lovely setting.
