Interesting movie tells a lot about the Carson history in the southwest and the family's personal history. Then touring the rooms and seeing the old photos and furnishings and the outside courtyard where a lot of the day to day activities took place just adds...More

The house is fascinating and its inhabitants more so. There is a short documentary made by the History Channel, starring one of Kit Carson's descendents, at the beginning of the exhibits. After, you are free to walk around the rooms and learn about the family....More

This tiny museum is packed with antiquities and love. The docent was knowledgeable and witty. She had additional tips for our Taos adventures and was very accommodating to our littles.

The museum did a great job highlighting Kit Carson's life and helped appreciate his role as a scout and frontiersman. His love for his family was well documented, something that was for me surprising. Too bad his home was closed for renovations.

This museum is small but is gives a good chronological review of Kit Carson's life and adventures. The tour starts with a film of his life from the history channel that does a good job getting one oriented into his life. There are good displays...More

Was in the area and decided to visit. I remember reading about Kit Carson when I was a kid and this was a real treat seeing where he lived at one time. Thought he'd lived here in his younger days & didn't realize that he...More

Parking was a tough find while we visited the area, not that it does not exist. There is no direct parking for the museum. However, we were able to park in an open restaurant parking lot at no charge just a block or so to... More
