“Jack the Burro” was sculpted by Frank Seckler of Taos, New Mexico after being commissioned by El Dorado Plaza in Taos, New Mexico in 2011. The sculpture, which provides an excellent photo opportunity, is dedicated to the lowly beasts of burden who honorably served the people of Taos and Northern New Mexico for many centuries. It's not uncommon to hear Taosenos say: "If you don't know Taos, you don't know Jack!"

If you don't know Jack then you ain't been to Taos.

Jack hangs out near my favorite Western Wear. Its tricky to wave at Paul and retrieve my grip on the leash in time to tip my hat at Jack as we walk past each day.

A good social media sharing opportunity if you want to take a picture with a statue. The craftsmanship of the Burro is nice too. Don't go out of your way to find this.

It wwis a rather mundane statue that sits outside of a shop. There isn't really anything else to say about it.mi don't think it is meant to be an attraction as much as sidewalk decoration for a store.

This is a genuine work of art and definitely worth making the trip to El Dorado Plaza. Jack isn't much for conversation, but he can hold his booze.
