We were involved with the Worrells' El Monte Sagrado in the beginning — yr. 2000. We've seen chef and owner change over our 16 yrs. and just want to say please try Cristina's excellent array of gourmet offerings. The Venison Tartar was superb with pickled vegetables, mustard and homemade chips. And the Taos Lightning Gin cured Salmon with a horse... More

I heard that there was a new chef and menu so a friend and I checked it out. The menu indeed looked very interesting so we ordered a quinoa salad, a chile relleno burger and sides of yukon fried potatoes and green chile grits. The salad was delicious although it was a bit overdressed - I hate ordering dressing on... More

As a previous review states, this was the low point of our stay at an otherwise great venue. We came down just for drinks and appetizer. Our server was less than attentive; he never checked back with us on whether or not we wanted another beverage. I tried 4-5 times to get his attention so I could get some water... More

Our visit to the Anaconda Bar was the low point of our stay at El Monte Sagrado Resort. Every other aspect of our experience was above and beyond all of our expectations. We thought that we would round out our evening with a couple of drinks at the bar. From the get-go it was clear the service would not match... More

We had eaten at the restaurant here at Monte Sagrado the previous evening. What brought us back was a bowl of red chili I seaeched the Internet for restaurants in Taos that had a bowl of chili, bit I was unsuccessful. The Anaconda Bar was the only place that I found. I did see a vegan chili somewhere, but that... More

A few good beers on tap and they make a good mohito. Bar food prices here are the only bargain in the hotel. Our only disappointment and a standing joke at the bar is "where is the Anaconda's head"? It body coils up on one side and the belly of the snake runs overhead and light the bar...... But...... No... More

While staying at the El Monte, my husband and I made a quick trip to the hotel's Anaconda Bar before retiring one evening, The bartender was in training and did a superb job mixing my husband's dry martini. Quiet, sophisticated, and swank.

Very nice bar in a beautiful hotel. Good service and fun staff. My IPA(s) were good and cold. We had a great burger with yummy fries and the green chile Mac-n-cheese!

we stayed at this hotel for several nights, and found this "watering hole" to be a real asset to the property. The bartender was attentive, funny, and over-the-top tuned into our needs. He/she anticipated our wants (same every night no matter who was at the bar), and were incredibly kind and attentive each day we came in. My husband had... More

We actually spent our late afternoon thru dinner at the bar (eating the restaurant menu). Great atmosphere. Warm. Relaxing. Comfortable. WOuld have like the bartender-ess to have warmed up to us sooner than it happened but after she smiled, we had a great conversation! Can't wait to get back and have another Taos Lightning Old Fashioned! YUM!
