- Gerry OGlasgow, United Kingdom3 contributionsA wonderful findI decided to try this breach out ,after Puerto Rico beach wanted cashcard for sun loungers, Best move i ever made, Stunning beach ,lovely water to swim in . Beach is like a semi circle with ,public toilets ,shops and restaurants .in which you could just have a snack and a few beers. Totally laid back beach which you could stay on till 10 pm. Probably later but had to get back to Puerto Rico apartment. 5 euro in a taxi from Puerto RicoVisited June 2023Travelled soloWritten 21 October 2023
- Mark EMaidstone, United Kingdom153 contributionsSafe and convenientWe discovered this place whilst staying in Maspalomas and exploring in our hire car. Easy access, clean, readily available sunbeds (12 Euros for 2 beds and a parasol all day) and plenty of choice of ice creams, snacks, drinks and meals all beachside. Forgotten a snorkel or towel? They have plenty of shops catering for anything you might need to enjoy your day in the sunshine. South - facing with clear water, soft sand and gently sloping, it is perfect for people with young children as the water is calm and the beach is South - facing.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 December 2023
- Trina S7 contributionsClear cold water and sands in Puerto RicoClear cold water and sands in Puerto Rico. Probable the most beautiful beach in that side of Island. Easy access to bus stop and facilities as restaurant and toilets but quite tourist beachVisited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 January 2024
- JohnlobsterMorpeth, United Kingdom2,610 contributionsClean beach.Went down here a couple of times when staying at gloria palace hotel. Beach is clean and water crystal clear. Plenty of refreshments places. Nice cooler place to sunbathe on the promenade but you have to be there early.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 February 2024
- Karen G39 contributionsClean pretty beachNice beach with lots of sunbeds& parasols( €4 each) somedays all were taken by midday. Great cafe at the far end - Palm Beach- best cafe con leche we had all holiday. Toilets were really clean and had showers and lockers. We walked along from Peurto Rico a beautiful walk.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 February 2024
- EthanMaidstone, United Kingdom84 contributionsLovely beach.Fantastic beach, clean with bins and toilets, a large selection of restaurants and shops that are all lovely, and the water is crisp and clear. Good sea walls so very calm to swim here. Would recommend. Good parking, free too, which is a bonus.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 March 2024
- md71Ayrshire, United Kingdom4 contributionsBeautiful and RelaxingLovely safe beach and enjoyable day out. 12€ for 2 beds and umbrella all day. Inflatable obstacle course to keep children entertained. Not that much to see when snorkelling unfortunately.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 May 2024
- Mrscozy8 contributionsBeautiful beachWe spent an amazing day at this beach. There are lockers toilets and shower rooms you need to pay a small fee to use. Please note they close at 6pm. We arrived at this beach on a Saturday at 2:30pm and easily found sun beds. They cost €4 each and €4 for the parasol. There’s lots of activities in the sea such as the mini water park and people riding sea pedal boats. The sea is a beautiful colour. The sand is firm and white and probably the easiest to walk on. Playa del ingles and Maspalomas have very fluffy sand. We had lunch along the beach too. Fantastic day. We will visit again loved it.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 May 2024
- AmritBirmingham, United Kingdom72 contributionsBeautiful beach with blue seaBeautiful beach which is situated between between Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogan. Due to a cove being created, the sea is very calm, perfect for snorkelling. Be careful, it does get deep very quickly. There an inflatable Childrens area, plenty of chairs and restaurant near by.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 8 June 2024
- tommymihalyBrighton, United Kingdom113 contributionsFavourite beach in the southThis beach is just along the coast from Puerto Rico in the south of Gran Canaria and was our favourite on the island. The beach is easily accessible by bus. Long stretch of sandy beach with lovely blue water. Water is calm and perfect for swimming. Plenty of sunbeds are available to rent all along the beach, a bit pricier than Maspalomas Beach where we were staying, but 2 sunbeds and a parasol cost under €15. There is one large set of public toilet facilities on the beach which costs €0,70 to use. Showers and lockers are also available for an extra cost. Facilities were very clean and attendants on site to assist. There is a long strip of restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops along the beach. Prices do vary at the shops so do look around. Many options for food - from burgers, pizzas and sandwiches to more traditional Spanish tapas and local specialties. I would highly recommend spending a day at Playa de Amadores if visiting Gran Canaria!Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 June 2024

This is a crowded, man-made beach which did not live up to my expectations. The colour of the water is OK, but not anywhere near what we have seen on other places. Very touristy with parking garage, souvenir shops and cheap eats.
The beach gets very crowded.
The advantage of the breakwaters that have been built though is that the waters are calm and nice for swimming.
I would recommend moving some 500 meters to Tauro beach which is not so crowded and fake.

Everything points to the beach. Good if your on the beach not so much if your in a hotel up the hill. Excellent place to explore the coast from by bus. everything you need for a good day at the beach. Not the best place if your on a budget, as your paying for a spectacular view over lunch or dinner. The Spar is expensive and has a limited range. If your self catering on a budget get the bus to a hypermarket were cost drop by around 1/3rd.

Amadores beach is beautiful even though it is apparently man made. There are lots of shops, bars and restaurants right on the beach too. It cost €12 for 2 sunbeds and a parasol for the day and they are plentiful - bring your own towel. Water is clear and protected by a harbour and roped off to make it safe to swim away from pedallos etc but water is freezing!

Beautiful beach with soft white sand that you can walk on even when it’s red hot.
The water is beautiful and clear and it’s quite calm and good for swimming.
Sun loungers are €4 each and umbrellas cost the same. Toilet is 60 cents and you can have a shower for €2 and even rent towels.
The pedalos are €15 for one hour and the inflatables cost €10. Both relatively expensive but easily ignored.
Lots of shops immediately next to the beach selling cheap ice cold drinks and some nice, well priced restaurants too.

Excellent beach, masses of nice soft sand if a little gritty (volcanic rock of the island) great for families with kids. Good selection of restaurants and shops. Amadores is sheltered bay where you can spend many hours relaxing on sun loungers at €4 a throw, parasol extra, or just visit to admire great sunsets.

What a stunning beach, has imported white/ light yellow sand giving it more of a paradise look compared to the other volcanic beaches. There are sunbeds available to hire on the projection of rocks either side of the bay if you want to catch the sun without the sand. There is an inflatable aqua adventure park with around 5 inflatable things including slides and climbing walls. The water is so clear and there is a line dividing the water sports activities from the bay. There is ample sunbeds and parasols available to hire, it was €12 for two sun beds and a parasol for the day. There are toilet (60 cents) and shower facilities (€2) available and lockers. There is a line of cafes / bars / shops along the back of the beach, all providing food and drink for reasonable prices they also offer take away so you can take back to your sunbeds. Local bus runs here and is very cheap cost around €2 a person from playa de ingles. Really recommend for a beach day ☀️👙⛱️🏝️🩱🐚

Brilliant beach but white imported sand sharp on soles of feet. Hammocks and sombrillas at a cost ( 12€ 2x hammocks and 1x sombrilla). Some rocks on beach and quite a steep drop only 10ft out from the shoreline. Got ear infection from bathing here daily. As beach toilets cost 60cents I suspect mist persons use the water to pee in. Otherwise Brilliant. Plenty of good and bad restaurants and shops.

The beach is sandy and there are rocks. The atmosphere is pleasant and there are plenty of umbrellas and hammocks. The water is clear and has a very cool tropical green color. As a negative point, the scam attempts that some beach restaurants try to comment on. French omelet for €9, €4 for a small bottle of water, be careful if you're not ready they'll nail it to you

The resort of Amadores in Gran Canaria is a beautiful place to visit or stay
Looking very picturesque with its soft sand horse shoe shaped beach and calm sea, it has to be one of the best beaches in that area.
With lots of sun loungers and parasols available to hire, plus plenty of beach bars, restaurants and shops, you can spend the whole day here easily.
Stay and watch the sun go down over the Ocean, as it's the best beach to watch a sunset from, and people visit it late evening just for that reason.
There are hotels all around the beach of Amadores within easy walking distance. The resort itself is quiet of an evening, and would be perfect for those wanting a chilled relaxing experience.
However, if you want something more lively, a taxi to the neighbouring resort of Puerto Rico is on average €5 or an easy 20 minute walk away along the coastal path.
Easily one of the most beautiful resorts to stay in on that side of the island. Enjoy beautiful Amadores.

We have been on the beach down at Amadores Beach Club. Good beach. You don't burn your feet in the sand when it's hot. Some of the best places we visited were restaurant Portifino with good food and service as well as the small kiosk Bikini Shop Amadores which is generally just cheaper than the other “kiosks”

How much are sun beds to hire I’m Maspalomas beach
Written 19 June 2023
Amadores is 4 euros for a bed and 4 for a parasol. Think this may be the standard rate for the area.
Written 20 June 2023
We are returning to Amadores on holiday this summer after a few years in other places.
Is there any bars on the beach strip that sell Guinness now that the Irish Cottage bar has closed?....my partner only drinks guinness and would be handy if there's somewhere closer than having to walk to Puerto Rico every day for a pint. Many thanks.
Written 14 January 2023
Sorry, I dont know if any restaurant by the beach serves guiness.

Hi, does anyone know if the toilets/parasol and sun beds are still taking cash or is now card payment? Also how much are they all?
Thank you

Hello hoping to visit in February. for those of you that have been in January is the sea warm enough to swim in? Thanks

La spiaggia è attrezzata con lettini e ombrelloni a noleggio? Mi trovo in zona Meloneras Maspalomas e qui il comune non ha ancora autorizzato la riapertura, per cui solo spiaggia libera. Grazie, Sara

Hi thinking of visiting this beach when we are away. The inflatable is it in very deep water or is the bottom reachable for a 5ft 5 tall person. Do they supple life jackets if children want to go on it and how much for it please
Written 23 October 2019
Yes they provide life jackets for kids. It’s too deep to stand in as you can jump off the inflatable but it’s close enough to the beach to be able to swim to. You can also access it from some steps to a jetty at the side. My kids love it! 25 euros for a full day or 10 euros for 45 mins. To be honest 45 mins is tiring enough!! Great fun though.
