This is the most extensive collection of petroglyphs we have ever encountered! The one mile self-guided tour through the rock art is simply fascinating. There are no barriers between the visitors and the petroglyphs. At the summit is a vista where hikers can sit and...More

The half mile hike up through the petroglyphs to a shaded shelter made for a fabulous afternoon especially with a 4 year old who love spotting the petroglyphs from the pictures in the pamphlet we picked up at the visitor center. Despite the fact that...More

This archaeological site, located outside the town of Tularosa, is easy to miss. However, it is worth the effort. At first, the site appears as nothing more than a barren group of hills with a lot of rocks. There is not a lot of signage...More

Today we visited the petroglyph site and were blown away by the number of petroglyphs while enjoying the surrounding mountains. Be warned, you will need to wear sturdy footwear as you will walk around rocks and uneven pathways.

The lady in the office is supper sweet! She made sure we had maps for all the local trails and public lands in NM. The hike to the petroglyphs is only about 2.5 miles round trip. The path is rocky and dose have an incline...More

So awesome and so full of photo ops. It is amazing that you can wander off the trail and go whatever you want. It's a bit of a hike on the trail and if you get off the trail you have to scramble around like...More

Oh, yes! When our children were little (under 5) we took them to Three Rivers Petroglyphs on a regular basis. There is plenty to look at for the under 4 feet tall ones. Bring water and a snack/lunch for the end of the... More

It is only $5 a car. You pay on site or put your payment in a box at the trail entrance, if after 4pm.
