This formerly homey and friendly library has undergone a dramatic transformation. No longer a friendly atmosphere; staff is now being browbeaten by a nasty new director. Several staff members have resigned because this. Unfortunately, she has the Board of Trustees wrapped around her little finger. The Devil does not wear Prada; she wears purple.

Small library with big heart. Can find most what you are looking or will order from other libraries in system. Offering all types of programs to participate in, not just for reading. Nice to have museum passes for the patrons to use. Use of computers and wifi could be better.

I grew up in Brewster and the public library was there, through it all. It was where I did research for high school history projects as well as undergraduate papers for college. It is a small library when compared to some of the neighboring towns, however it retains the of the village the way it used to be.

Michele the librarian in late aft & eve is outstanding. Knowledgeable of books and friendly. Always available and never distracted. Variety of books is excellent but they order within the system and get them quick. I visit several libraries around NY and this is very good. Computer speed has doubled and copies are cheap and clear.

Friendly people and a beautiful old building that is just fun to look around in and pick out some books to read by the shore.

I had spent many hours here during high school. Not the best for the collection of books, but usually plenty of space and quiet. Except when the librarian asked me to run across the street and buy her a tube of toothpaste. Not really an attraction, but the Brewster Museum is across the parking lot. However, the town cannot afford... More

Large modern space to get your work & research done. Helpful, friendly staff. Nice place to get away and get some work done, also.

Some of the staff when I have entered can be a bit friendlier. She basically ignored me until she was done with whatever she was doing before speaking to me. The book displays are very random and it's hard to locate books that you need. The library itself is small but spacious enough for a few people. Not many signs... More
