This many-faceted garden of Orchids takes your breath away. The walk in pristine woods that have been here for centuries, pleasing smell of the roses, profound stillness broken only by the sound of water falling --there is peace n joy

We had out of town visitors coming, it always happens this way, you live in NY your whole life but don't do some of the things you should. That is the case with the gardens. My kids loved the zoo so we were in this area a ton of times over the years but never to the gardens. Crazy weather... More

We had a lovely time at the Botanical Garden today, a beautifully organised exhibition. If vIsiting from NYC BE CAREFUL buying the Botanical Garden 'package' through Metro-North from Grand Central Terminus. We were charged $3 each more than if we'd purchased the tickets separately. Check the prices before buying.

Lovely break from the cold to check out the orchid show at the Conservatory. Thai theme, with orchid-covered elephants and orchids in a monastery-like setting. Beautiful flowers, and worth the time/money to see them. I will say, however, that the NY Botanical Garden doesn't hold a candle to the one in Chicago. That had twice as many flowers, much more... Magnificent in every season, this many-faceted garden of botanical delights can take your breath away. Go for a walk in pristine woods that have been here for centuries, take time to smell the roses, immerse yourself in stillness broken only by the sound of water falling -- you will find peace, and joy, at every turn.

It was a cold day in New York so we decided to go to the Bronx and visit the Botanical Garden. On this trip we were able to stay inside and see the wonderful array of Orcids.. What an amazing show of beautiful flowers. The staff was wonderful and the space las well laid out and clean. I felt so... More

The Botanical Gardens is a wonderful place to visit, whether you are a tourist or a local. You really feel like you have stepped into another place...a quieter, more beautiful place at that. There are extensive grounds, and the conservatory building hosts different shows throughout the year (including the fabulous orchid show in the spring and the immensely popular holiday... More

Despite it being too early for most trees and perennials, the basic structure of this large site means there are always things to see. We enjoyed seeing the snowdrops and crocuses and a few early daffodils and the various coloured cornuses. The conservatory with its spectacular tropical and desert plantings is a must and we were lucky enough to enjoy... More

I have been to many orchid shows in many venues. Hands down this was the best ever. Spectacular displays. The designs are creative and amazing. Each room hits you with a new surprise. Especially great on a cold day in March.
