This is a great zoo. Because of the natural habitats, some animals are hard to see at certain times but there were great views of the big cats (several varieties including lions, tigers, snow leopards and panthers). The giraffes are great as are the rhinos. The Congo exhibition is wonderful with several gorillas right up close. Buy a premium ticket... More

While definitely not the best Zoo in my memory book, Bronx offers a decent selection of animals to view. If you go there with kids (which, i guess, is a 90% chance anyway), mind the size of the park - it's large, and the pathways are not laid out in the most logical manner, in my view, so prepare for... We rode the subway from Manhattan to the Bronx, then walked about a ways to get to the zoo. They have directions on their website for which trains to take. We visited on a Wednesday and it was free admission. The exhibits are all outstanding!! Lots of exhibits, beautiful buildings, informative plaques, and interactive staff. We took our time at... This zoo is huge and we were lucky enough to find off free street parking during Spring Break. We bought the Total Experience tickets which covers the cost of the Monorail and the zoo shuttle but the Monorail was not operational as the season had not started yet. We did not make use of the zoo shuttle as it was... More

I have been to asia which the zoo tries hard to simulate for the animals and i must say they do an excellent job in transporting the visitor to another continent. This is the best zoo i have ever seen because it allows the animals the space they need and the enclosures are similar to the animals' natural habitat which... More

A long day with a lot of excitement. Take in all the attractions and make a day of it. Don't take any short cuts cause they are worth seeing. Great time for everyone

We traveled to New York for vacation. When planning events, my husband mentioned the Bronx Zoo. We went on a Wednesday when admission is free. We did, however, pay $14.95 per person for the extras. Glad we did! The extras were worth it. The zoo was nice but in need of updates. For example the 4D theater was good, but... More

I pre-booked tickets before we left the UK which made for a quicker entry. You can download them onto your phone so no printing required. We made the trip to the zoo on the bus which was significantly cheaper than using a car service. The bus was safe and dropped you right outside the zoo. The only drawback was that... More

It had been two decades, perhaps a bit more, since I last visited this zoo. My memories were of a phenomenal zoo experience, o I chose it as a place for a family gathering and to introduce my granddaughter from Mexico to the zoo. Sadly, the Bronx Zoo no longer lives up to my memories. I've now been to the... More

There were a handful of really good attractions but for the size of the zoo it was just not enough to be worth the time and money we invested to come. Without the total experience tickets it would definitely not be worth going and this review would be a one. The zoo is not laid out well. You absolutely have... More
