Midsummer night dream

Last summer I was at the museum for the Crains 5 Boro tour. It was a great evening and the installations were exciting to see.

Not stroller friendly! I went with my cousin and her 2 year old. We were asked to leave the stroller at the door. There is about 1 floor of actual exhibits but there are small stairs within the exhibit so not very wheelchair accessible either. The security guard was quite abrasive and the line that was placed for the small... More

Small museum with some very relevant exhibits on social issues and the activism surrounding these issues. When I visited, there was an exhibit on the plight of a woman living in Chicago who was later deported to her native Mexico, giving a face and voice to America's undocumented. Entrance is free.

Paid $10 to park nearby. Stayed under 10 minutes and saw it all. 2 rugs a boring movie and 5 pics of Guatamala. Pretty much it. Upstairs used for an event. I am an art lover but this was a waste of time.

We went to a Friday Night Concert at the Bronx Museum that was presented by the Carnegie Hall organization. The Bronx Pyramid Sextet was the group performing, and they were clearly local favorites. The jazz was latin-flavored, and quite good. The room was full, and it was an exciting musical experience. And free.

The exhibits range from superb to mediocre. They also recently hosted an exhibit that depicted paintings of the BX. Funky and classic.

What can I say about this museum. The price of the museum is free which makes it attractive. The problem I had is there is nothing here. Its mostly one floor and its mostly a martin wong exhibit. If you are a fans of his then you will be in heaven. Currently there are 3 exhibits which should on the... More

After living in New York City for close to two decades, I visited the Bronx Museum of the Arts for the first time after learning that it was hosting a Martin Wong exhibition. Now I could kick myself for all the great opportunities I must have missed over the past twenty years. The Bronx Museum is small compared to the... More
