We went for the first time to the museum, and really enjoyed our day. Saw a show, which was really cool, and perfect time to keep the attention of our 5 year old. After we walked around the property which was cool. Seeing the size of the property was great. Lots of hills and some small trails to walk on.... More

Attended the planetarium with my 10 year old daughter we had an amazing time. We saw two shows and both were fantastic the narrators kept us well informed and interested, and geared for younger children to understand. Definitely a gem on Long Island used to library pass which made it even more affordable.

My daughter and I love to view the stars at the Planetarium. We visited in the winter to see the Winter night sky. The Planetarium is open late on Friday nights. Enjoy!

What a wonderful time to visit this beautiful mansion. It is not large, but it is a great place to stroll the grounds, look at the water, tour the house, visit the planetarium and luxuriate in the lifestyle of William Vanderbilt. At holiday time the mansion is decorated and beautiful. If you choose to take the tour, the docent is... More

Visited recently to see the Mansion of one of America's richest families decorated for Christmas. Well worth the price of admission. Wear comfortable shoes as there is alot of walking and climbing stairs if you choose to take in all the floors. Guided tour can take from 45 to 90 min.according to how big the group is and the luck... More

Gone many times. It is not huge as mansions go, but sizable. The guides are very informative and often contribute fun stories about the family and their history. It is on a beautiful property overlooking the sound with a boat house. There is a Planetarium on premises which is great for the kids and adults as well. It is available... More

This is the former summer home of the Vanderbilts. It houses some of his collection (much of it old and dated, but kids will still love it), and their house. Lovely views over the harbor and Bay.
