Beautiful and scenic course on the lake, Leatherstocking offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. There are many raised greens and chances to use every club in the bag. We truly enjoyed the course until we crossed the street at the end of nine holes. Those few holes over there are devilish. Always will remember the 18th and the... More

Excellent traditional course. Played here with the NYS Business Council tournament. Can't wait to go back and play my own ball.

Was in Albany and after taking one day to see Baseball HoF, drove back over the next to play Leatherstocking, and it was worth every minute of the 3 hour round trip drive. A classic old course, not exceptionally long, but you MUST drive the ball in the fairway. Lots of doglegs/slight doglegs...greens bigger than they appear from fairway....lots of... More

A lovely setting and a well maintained course. A throwback to the early days of golf in America. The holes across the road are challenging. Par five 18th is a lot of fun. Try to cut off as much as you can. Second shot needs to get you close because the fairway narrows. I saw a ball hawker with fishing... More

Well what golfer wouldn't want to play a course with a long lake front view? With side slope, elevation changes, lane changes to get across the road to head uphill, then tee off looking straight downhill to a three par...is pretty awesome. Just when you think your safe you cross back across the road again, then drive out on the... More

Beautiful, challenging golf course with great views along Otesaga lake, a must if you are a golfer! Also if you are considering spending the night look into the Otesaga Resort Hotel which is located at the end of golf course and lake. Charming estate with great customer service and wonderful meals.

I've played this course at least 50 times and will never get sick of it. It is an absolute gem. Challenging, scenic, perfectly manicured and well worth the money. Its not overly difficult, but you have to keep your ball in the short grass and be able to putt to have a good round. The undulating greens can be very... More

Great location with inspired views of Otsego Lake. I recommend walking, but warn you it's hilly. The course has a couple of long driveways ( or are those roads) that meander through it, and you have to cross the highway, by cart or on foot, twice to get from one hole to another. That doesn't read well, but trust me,... More

This is one of my favorite golf courses and I am somewhat of a golf snob as I have played all over the world in the top places including St. Andrews, Pebble Beach and Bandon Dunes. I like that it's a bit quirky and they would never make a similar course designed this way. The reason it's quirky is that... More

We only had time to play the back 9 early in the morning but what a wonderful experience. We decided to enjoy the scenery and not to keep score - just play for the joy of being there. Hit good and bad shots, but will never forget standing on the tee at 18 with the majestic Otesaga in the background.... More
