Not his Summer Home as the caption says. This was his gazebo where he worked during the summer onths that he was in Elmira. He wrote Huck Finn here and as of this writing, the gazbo is on the campus of Elmira College.

Twain's sister-in-law had this built for him and it was eventually moved to Elmira College. It's not open to the public and the only things you can see are from looking inside the windows.

The gazebo was built by his wife for him to use summers when they stayed in Elmira. Not in original location but now convenient to find at eElmira College. Take the city tour and you can go inside. Otherwise you have to look in the...More

More like the gazebo where he did his writing when he visited his summer home. Still impressive, and located nicely on the campus of Elmira College near statues of MT and his wife, Olivia Langdon.

It's not Mark Twain's home it's a small one room study where he spent time and wrote some of his books. It's a cute little building. You can walk up to it and look inside. There is also a Mark Twain statue at the Elmira...More

the campus and area of town is in it self interesting. the area of the college is special and the town of Elmira is worth seeing..Harris Hill, Eldridge Park, Cowles Hall, there is also the surrounding Finger lakes region which is beautiful and funfilled.
