Very impressed about fire island the lighthouse parking as it’s February was free, but they ask $8 to take a guided tour of the lighthouse which I didn’t think was worth that.

Here on Long Island, we’ve got some famous lighthouses, but none are as pleasant an experience as Fire Island (I’m looking at you Montauk). The lighthouse is easily accessible from Robert Moses Park Field 5. During the busy season there is a $10 parking fee....More

We have been here twice. Awesome staff. Amazing views. Narrow stairs at top though. I would recommend bringing snacks or lunch and make a whole afternoon of this excursion.

This is def a cool place to go with your partner or your family. It's awesome that they allow you to go all the way to the top of the lighthouse climbing 182 steps. I don't think it's a good idea for small kids but...More

I went there with my family. It’s a good place for children. I really like the lighthouse because of the nice scenery. After that I went to the beach. There are the high tides. Be careful for that and prepare the extra clothes.

Yes, even if they closed the lighthouse accessible, you still can walk around out there. It's a nice peaceful place to visit, just leave before the sky goes dark, It might be dangerous that you can't see the road back.
