Really fun (and educational) place for younger kids!

My husband and I brought our 5 and 4 year old grandsons (cousins) and our 3 year old grand daughter. If the boys would not have had each other, they would have had a very good... read more

When entering the Cradle Aviation Museum (a great experience there) and noticed that there was a large sign in the front for the Nassau County Firefighter's Museum. Now I remember seeing this deal on a Groupon and decided that while we were visiting the Cradle Museum, we would peek in to the Firefighter's Museum and get the tickets based on... More

My husband and I brought our 5 and 4 year old grandsons (cousins) and our 3 year old grand daughter. If the boys would not have had each other, they would have had a very good time for about hour. We went the the museum over the summer and the kids enjoyed it, so we decided to host my son's 3rd birthday party at the location. There was a cute craft for the kids for 1/2 hour, pizza and cake for 1/2 hour and an hour at the museum itself. My only complaint was that the pizza was horrible. You... More

A must visit for children of all ages. We took our two grandchildren there, ages four and seven, and it was hard tio decide who enjoyed the visit more. Check with your local library and see if they have free passes for you to borrow.

Took the kids they loved it - climbing fire engines, seeing all the exhibits hands on - the adults liked it too.

I recently visited the museum with my 4-year old grandson - it was perfect for a child around this age. It is not too big and it won't entertain for more than 90 minutes or so - but is is good for younger children. There are some nice hands-on activities and a fire engine that a child can climb on.... It is very small and not much to see for kids. Kids like hands on. If you are or were a firefighter, you might find it interesting.
