This is truly a gem! Never mind the Masters paintings and the history of the buildings. The Hyde offers much more. I try to get a visit in at least once a year.

Found this museum when we arrived early in Glen Falls to attend Adirondack Theatre Festival performance - and really enjoyed it. A few real surprises in terms of well-known paintings hanging on the walls - and excellent docent information.

Strange things to comment on include: the fountains don't run because the "security guards found them annoying."...More

The Hydes who donated most of the artwork and the house were well-to-do collectors who utilized their resources very well in building an eclectic collection. I'll leave it to you to visit the museum's website for more information but I definitely recommend a visit. Plan...More
