Mr. Lorenza was the perfect host. They served drinks and doughnuts for breakfast and the tour was so very interesting. Having grown up in the village we were in awe of all the information we were given that we had not learned as residents there in our youth. We could not have had a better introduction to the history of... More

it was interesting. Not to much to see inside only took about an hour to see all. I grew up in this town and didn't know a lot of the things until I went to the museum.

I went with my mom and daughter after moving to this small town on a whim. It was pretty cool to see the house and everything inside it's all well preserved and taken care of. The staff that were their had a lot of pride in the museum and lots of good knowledge and stories.

This place is packed full of history and good things to see- downtown but off the main drag- worth a stop! I was impressed!

This is a great little museum if you want to learn about local history. It is conveniently located in the center of town. I especially enjoy the mining history section. They have clothing, military stuff, documents, furniture, toys, farming items, etc. available for viewing.

My husband and I spend the summers in the North Country and are visiting the many small towns in the area. We spent an enjoyable afternoon in Gouverneur. We've been to many local museums but this one was exceptional. There are 3 floors chock full of historical artifacts, plus an Out Building with more props from the lives of those... More
