We have just started skiing this season and were looking for a low key, ability friendly experience within an hours drive. This mountain checked all the boxes. They had closed for the season, but reopened once the snow hit last week, so lift tickets were discounted. The Bunny Hop trail and Joe's Special were our favorite runs. Chair lift was... More

For a non skiing family , it did not have an intimidating feeling at all. Ski lesson was reasonable and tubing prices were not bad at all. Bar food was surprisingly good as was the beer. Short drive from salem .

I did the 5 Day Holiday Skiing classes with my 6 year old sister between Christmas and New Year. I have not gone skiing for over 10 years and was starting from scratch. My sister was skiing for the first time. Willard Mountain could not have been better for beginners like us! The classes were grouped by skill for people... More

My family and I were here on Sunday and had a blast! We paid for 2 hours of snow tubing and it was totally worth it for us. All the staff, with the exception of one man was wonderful. The man we had an issue with, due to his being consistently rude to pretty much every person up there (Ryan... More

Chick, the owner, and his staff are fantastic! They are all committed to providing a great skiing experience. The hill is always well groomed and maintained. Great family atmosphere and very welcoming, time and again.

This small ski area is a perfect place to take the kids. The mountain is small enough that I felt like I could keep track of (though not always could I keep up with!) my kids. While very experienced skiers may get bored quickly, beginners to advanced intermediate skiers have plenty of trail options. The rental process is quick and... More

Overall I have serious safety concerns. Are there any minimum NY state standards which a ski mountain must meet? 1. The ski school allows children as young as 4 to ride the chair lift with strangers as part of the ski school program (also a 5 year old boy fell off the chair lift in Dec 2014). 2. The Little... The Girl/Boy scouts rented Willard Mountain for a night of tubing. Everyone from little kids to the adults had a great time. The staff was very friendly and made sure the warming stations, inside and out, were always stoked. They even made Smores! A special shout out for the two gentleman and one gal that were pushing the tubes to... More

Its a local, friendly ski mountain which serves kids, teen, and local adults who want someplace closer than the larger Vt and Adk places. It's good at teaching, and the terrain is surprisingly varied. But its smaller than the big mountains, so experienced skiiers will run out of challenege after a few hours. Plus they ski at night. Overall: great... More
