We parked at the upper falls viewing area, but because it was snowy and icy the trail to the lower falls was marked with a warning to not proceed without proper equipment. We were, however, able to view the falls from the upper viewing platform...More

Not a bad hike. Going to the bottom is a bit trying, depending on your experience. Great views in a nice area. Can be a quick hike if you want.

Kaaterskill Falls has been a family favorite for many years. You can view it form the bottom - parking is located passed the falls across the road at an overlook point or you can view it from the top. Drive passed the falls, then follow...More

Great outdoor activity in the Catskills. The hike to the bottom of the waterfall is 0.5 miles through the forest and easily overcome. Both the hike and the falls are beautiful. Not very crowded.

I am currently 6 months pregnant, and did not realize it was a pretty rigorous hike! Well worth it! We saw the falls from the Upper Viewing Platform, and then headed down to the Lower Falls. The majority part of the hike has a trail,...More

Hiked down to the "falls" which at this time of year is more like a trickle but I'm told in the spring it's magnificent. The trail is manageable and there are stone steps near the bottom which make it easier to navigate the steep incline...More

If you want to see the falls when the water level is high go in the early spring (May or early June) or immediately after a rainy spell.

I have older children, so I did not use a bay carrier. I am sure if you go slow, take your time and watch your step, you should do fine with a baby carrier. If you feel or see if may be too risky or dangerous, just do the... More
