We could tell you which one, but everyone has a different wine palate. Let's just say the label has a dog on it. We went in to sample and buy our usual bottle, there are a lot of wineries in the area. We came out...More

The only place in the Finger Lakes offering a tour of working facility plus film & lecture on the history of wine making and the area. The rest of the places are either quaint wineries for tasting and vineyard photos or storefronts passing as wineries...More

This massive property is steeped in heritage, being America's oldest bonded winery (meaning there may be older wineries, but this one first to follow the rules). The wines are from Niagara and Catawba grapes - not for snobby wine enthusiasts. We love them, as well...More

Not sure why this place has such high ratings. The wine was not good. I would never try a sherry but likely my husband did and it was outstanding- we bought a bottle! They also had a number of champagnes but we didn't try. Maybe...More

Our tour guide provided a great tour of the winery and a significant amount of the history behind the winery which is one of the oldest in the Finger Lakes area. Following the tour we were treated to a great wine tasting.

While there's a small museum and of course wine/sherry/champagne tasting, the tour really makes the visit to Pleasant Valley shine. They have numerous buildings on the National Register of Historic Places and have the dubious honor of being US Bonded No. 1 (first winery to...More
