Shaw focuses on holding the wines back before release to bring together the flavors in the barrel and the bottle. We tasted wines going back as far as 2008 that were delicious and for sale in the tasting room. Needless to say, we bought A LOT!

The keep it low key but are producing some of the best wine in the area. Loved the 2008 Sauvignon Blanc and 2014 Reserve Un-Oaked Cabernet Franc.

I have passed this winery several times and not really paid attention to it. It is small and unassuming looking. When I finally did stop I discovered why it is unassuming. They are focusing on great wine making! The tasting room is small, the whole building is small and rustic. It includes some fantastic art; some for sale. And they... More

My wife and I were driving by after hitting about 7 wineries over 3 days as I said, "I'm not sure how many more mediocre wines I can pretend to like." What a perfect time to step into Shaw. Oh my. Here it is. A Finger Lakes winery that makes bold reds who stand up to California. I thought I... More

Steve was knowledgeable and an attentive host! Love the wine selection, one of the best vineyards. We arrived a little past 4 and he opened up after he closed just to take care of us. He Saved our night! He Invited us back for a tasting the following day and recommended many places to try throughout our stay. Great wine,... More

Good wines and a nice rustic atmosphere. The wines are unique and gave a great profile that sets them apart from others in the area

The owner of Shaw Wineries is a known "dry wine" enthusiast and it shows in the quality of the wines. Locals had told us that wine enthusiasts from all over say that Shaw makes the best dry reds anywhere! I would agree with that as well (even though I don't consider myself an expert by any means!). The tasting is... More

Absolutely LOVE this winery. By far our fave of the ones we tried in the Finger Lakes. Most of the red wines in the area are very lightly flavored, due to the growing season in the area. Shaw has a sign up with a review saying he's a "mad scientist" and I believe it. Somehow he gets A LOT of... More

We stopped in to Shaw Vineyards as the last stop on our self made itinerary of the day this past weekend. We were extremely happy we picked this place to visit. First the owner was very accommodating. We had a small party bus for the 6 couples in our group and normally no buses are allowed here because of the... More
