It was a really nice experience learning the origin of bogolan textiles. The staff was very kindly and the explanation clear. The have items to sell, but if you are not interested on buying, they gave you the same attention.

We came here with our 3year old, to see how all this is made. The gentlemen where really nice and welcoming. They gave us activities to do with our daughter and she enjoyed herself as well in the process, it's a very nice place to visit.mthe outside building is the famous Mali type of building which is quite the art... More

Well run, informative yet brief workshop tour with our chance to give mud cloth printing a try (I'll keep my day job....). Great shop, with reasonable prices. Near Hotel Independence

Do not leave Segou without having make a tour there and have the full explanation on the Bogolan process.

This is a interesting cotton spinning-weaving-clothing design-art gallery situated in front of the post office in Segou. There is a room of spinning and weaving and people at work using traditional cotton thread and industrial cotton thread to make fabrics of all dimensions. The Ndomo workshop is a social enterprise run by a very talented artist, Boubacar Doumbia, who employs and trains young people from Ségou who together, make beautiful cloths that are sold worldwide. Traveling with 4 others for 5 weeks in West Africa, I was not interested in learning about bogolan products but I went anyway. The presentation by the Ndomo staff was enthusiastic and I was soon caught up in the demonstration of the process; made all the more fun & interesting when I got to design and hands-on produce my own...
