I've been married to my Firefighter husband for 25 years and have gone with him to more Fire related museums in the US and other countries than I can count! This museum was by far the best one I have ever been to! We went to New York & Boston to celebrate our 25th Anniversary & this stop was a... More

This was my first visit to the Museum. I was at the FASNY Home on family business and was given a tour of the museum after my meeting. I strongly recommend a visit for anyone involved with Fire/ EMS service, their friends and/or families. Great for all kids and a part of the volunteer history.

My husband and I we are both volunteers and the local fire company in our area. We decided to take a road trip without even knowing about the museum and what a find! This was excellent, you need time to see everything in detailed. Unfortunately, we came in near closing time so was not able to read about everything. The... More

First let me say I have been involved in the volunteer Fire, EMS and Haz Mat service since I was a teenager. My parents tell me that I was here as a real little kid but I certainly do not remember it. I have been through different manufacturers factories and other fire museums but I like this one a great... What a great place for both Young and Old. This small but charming museum packs a punch. We had a great time looking at the vast collection of fire trucks from the 1600's until now. For children there was a ton to do we especially liked the bucket brigade challenge. The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable. A good... More

This is an astounding large collection of magnificent old fire engines, dating back to the 1700s! They are aesthetically beautiful. No one else was there! Any traveler to Hudson who enjoys the designs of old vehicles would be thrilled with an hour's visit to this museum. There's lots to learn about firefighting through the centuries in addition to taking pleasure... More

Great place to take the kids. One could spend hours here. Be sure to visit the cemetery nearby as well as the 9/11 memorial by the ball field. Only 4 stars because it needs to include EMS.

This a great museum. They have an incredible collection and have done an excellent job making it interesting and accessible for all ages. I learned a lot about the evolution of fire fighting equipment. I was particularly interested in learning how horses replaced teams of men as steam powered pumps got too large to haul by hand. This led to... More

I went here only to make my husband happy and assumed I would be bored silly. To my surprise, this was a wonderful museum with an amazing array of vehicles and historical information. There were modern fire engines as well as antique fire trucks dating back to the steam-powered kind and even the horse-drawn kind. There were tools, gear, accessories,... More
