The scenic drive is not very scenic due to the trees block the views. A must see is the waterfalls. Easy flat hike.

We loved the short hike to the Taughannock Falls! It was an amazing sight to see. We stayed in the park for the weekend and liked the availability of the electric sites. The proximity to Watkins Glen and other attractions was nice! Overall a great...More

Lake Cayuga is a large lake with Ithace at the base and Auburn at the north end. There are 17 wineries near us and they are starting to generate some good wines although their Chardonnays are still too sweet for me. The lake is 40...More

What a great discovery. Due to weather we skipped our trip along Lake Ontario and ventured on the shores of Lake Cayuga. From wineries, to creameries, to gorges, there is plenty to keep everyone in the family interested. We arrive before the season as everything...More

Ok, so I'm biased. I've loved Cayuga for 57 years now, in all seasons, and from thousands of angles. It has changed a lot in that time, as zebra mussels have moved in. And it no longer ices up much in these warm winters. But...More

A marvelous waterfall in the distance teases you to make he trek to the bottom of the gorge and hike to the foot, but it is not necessary. The visitors' center and ample parking make the view from the top every bit as awesome. A...More

Even when the day looks a little gray, the view is outstanding! Just sit, relax, and enjoy the view. The area was upgraded when we went, a new building with new amenities. Will check it out during the spring :)

Words cannot describe the beauty of the scenic overlook views of the Ithaca falls. Read the history signage and get a real feel for how these falls became so important to the community.

We are blessed with beautiful lakes, great hiking, biking and boating. Best place to launch is Treaman State Park. Great amenities.

Around the lake here are a number of gorges all of which have viewing areas as well as trails. Taughannock park is pretty flat, the others are more rocky to walk the trails. On the other hand, there are at least a dozen... More

Is there a publically accessible swimming spot on the lake after Labor Day? We are anticipating that the weather will be warm enough for a dip the week after Labor Day?

East Shore Park about a half mile north of Stewart Park (southern end of lake) Taughannock I think has no lifeguard after labor day but I think you can still swim there

We would like to take our kayaks out but we don't know where to go in and what area we are allowed in. Are small kayaks even allowed out in the lake?

Cayuga lake is a great for kayaking. There are a number of launch sites along the lake. There are no restrictions. However, the lake is big and it can get rough when the wind blows.
