This is truly a spectacular place. Lower Treman with camping, picnic grounds, and a swimming area is delightful. The upper Treman trail is long and difficult but mind-blowing gorgeous. So worth it. Beautiful gorges, waterfalls, stone.

Trees were in bloom. It had been raining a lot, but the river & waterfall were wonderful. The hiking trail was closed at that time.

A completely gorgeous park for a hike...2 routes to choose to navigate your way...the rim one and the lower one. Two separate ways to enter, both with ample parking. You are immediately transported to a lush paradise...picturesque walkways, stone bridges, deep gorge, rushing cold water...just...More

Use the western entrance to hike the gorge and view the Lucifer Falls. In my opinion, that is the best part of this park.

Treman State Park is a fun swimming hole with picnic areas, plenty of parking, and all the crowds of a waterfall that you can almost drive directly into and still roast a hot dog. For those up for a little more strenuous adventure, take two...More

Gorgeous falls, beautiful hike. Definitely worth a trip! I will say that if you're choosing between Robert Treman State Park and Buttermilk State Park, choose Buttermilk. BUT I highly recommend going to both!

We went there last week the park was not official open so there is no charge. However, the main trail and the swimming pool were not open. We took the upper trail and were able to see the Fall from the trail. The trail was...More

I really liked this park on the southern edge of Ithaca. Very easy to get to, plenty of parking, and multiple trails to take. You can walk to the waterfalls in seconds without having to follow any challenging trails. You can also venture off on...More

What a pretty park. My husband and I stopped here to check out the park. Unfortunately the gorge trail was still closed for the season so we will have to come back for that but the park is still quite beautiful!

For a while, part of the upper trail at Treman State Park was closed. I am curious to know, as of September, 2016, if it is open again. Also, if it is open again, would you recommend by doing the step side of the trail, or the forest side of the trail, first.

I believe both were open. We really enjoy the step side of the trail. I think the views of the falls are much prettier. There are quite a few stairs, but there are many places to stop & rest on the way back up if necessary... More

Here's a phone number for a local transportation company: (607) 277-RIDE (That's 277-7433). They list the park as one of their stops but I'm not sure how it works with their schedules. The park is worth the effort to get... More
