Ausable Chasm, open since 1870, is the oldest and largest natural attraction in the Adirondacks. More than 10 million visitors have explored the chasm on the well-maintained scenic nature trails. Scenic vistas, bridges and stairs throughout provide stunning views of the chasm and amazing waterfalls. More tours and adventures than any other Adirondack natural attraction including: float tours (via raft), tubing, rappelling, rock climbing, lantern tours and the all new Adventure Trail (via feratta/cable course). Great options for families of all ages as well as for the more adventurous! Cafe, gift shop, campground, cabins & motel on-site.

We opted not to pay almost $20 a person to walk to The private area! Glad we did! We still got Great views and pictures from the Bridge that crosses the River! It is spectacular! The power of the River is on full display!

We stumbled upon this gem. Beautiful place! Well worth the money. Amazed at the amount of work put in to the trails. Not recomended for those who have fear of heights, but perfect for thrill seekers.

So disappointed in this privately run tourist attraction. They do not have to follow the NYS law that permits Service Dogs ....any were that the public is permitted. I was told they pose a danger to guests. What kind of loop hole are they trying...More

I went here with my husband and it's absolutely breathtaking. We walked every trail and each turn we took, it took my breath away. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Their website states that the only days they are closed are Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's.

There is quite a bit of walking involved.
