I usually ski on the many Forest Preserve trails in the area, but if the snow is low or you need to rent skis, this is a good option. Friendly staff and interesting trails with some grooming, and the pass is inexpensive.

Cascade Ski Center is more than a ski center. A cozy bar and dining lodge that attracts as many locals as visitors is found with great views and a fun vibe. If the locals go, you know it is genuine good food and drink at a reasonable price. A real ski lodge feel with a huge fire place and plenty... More

This was a beautiful location just outside of town. Many trails both beginner and challenging. Friendly staff and gorgeous scenery. A great experience!

Mo was so helpful and sweet she made sure we were well oriented with our equipment and trails . Lunch was delicious - great beer and cider selection. Beginners beware the small hills down to the trails . We had fun x country skiing AND snowshoeing .

I was there when there wasn't much snow so the conditions weren't great but it seems like in general, this is a basic, down-to-earth style cross country ski center, not like the higher-end, highly groomed other local x-country ski centers for the college athletes. The trail I was on was wide enough for one person and wove through the woods.... More

Did this for the first time and loved it! Nice laid back family-friendly attraction, ideal for beginners like me. Not too difficult and felt great at the end. Definitely recommend it.

This was my wife's very first time on skis and I had mostly downhill skiing experience. Thus, we decided to take a class ($25 for 1st person and $15 for an additional person). I'm glad we did. Our instructor Terry was amazing. He was very patient and understanding with my wife and could easily pinpoint my mistakes and habits from... More

Took the kids cross-country skiing. The staff was friendly and accommodating for us, as we have never been. The kids had a blast, spending four hours on the trails, and when I'd had enough, the bar was warm and friendly, and the food was good, with reasonable prices. We had a great day trying something new with teenagers for a... More
