In Feb., the gardens are not in blume, but I can imagine this small park being great in summer, Easy to access with the Metro, wort a visit, if you are interested in modern a large pieces. No admission and also possibilities to view artists at work. Directly situated on the waterfront with a direct view of Manhattan.

Interesting changing sculpture shows in an attractive park with many places to sit. Smallish, but felt like a friendly neighborhood place, and it's impressive that they change the sculpture shows each year.

the sculpture park is purely a local delight. It's basically a park with a rotating stock of sculpture art. Kids and animals can run around (although dogs aren't technically allowed off leash, but if they are behaved people don't care) and adults can sit and enjoy the river and city views. Even on a snowy day the park is fun.

A lovely place to relax and chill. Somewhere for children to run around and enjoy a safe area in a busy part of town.

Very peaceful place especially in summer to enjoy reading a book or just to walk around. It's worth popping in and often they have lots of events that run through the summer including movies in the evening.

Was in the area so thought I'd check it out. It was ok and has a nice location along the waterfront but I expected more I guess. Not a bad place to visit if in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way just to come here. Seems popular with locals walking their dogs

It's a public park, so keep your expectations lower as it's not a museum, however I love to come out here to enjoy the sculptures. I always bring guests here. It's completely free but still enjoyable for an hour picnic with a view of the water.

Forget about Central Park. The most exciting park to visit in NYC is Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens. Don't let the fact that it is in Queens throw you off either. It is in the nicest area of Queens there is (Astoria. Even though it says Long Island City, it is known to the residents as being in Astoria.) Just... More
