This is the place to go to catch the best waves. If you are a surfer you can ride waves anywhere along the south shore but the best waves are here.

The beach is a mecca for surfers and paddleboarders or those who like to watch both. Unparrallelled natural beauty. There are trails in the bluffs to hike as well. The beach is truly amazing. Parkning is limited to two smallish lots so come early or...More

Hung out with a friend who was staying in a rental on Ditch Plains Road - a quiet and peaceful area just a short walk from the beach, shaded by trees with a nice sea breeze. Beautiful beach. Saw some great surfing while there. Felt...More

I grew up spending summers a block away so I'm admittedly biased. Nevertheless, this little gem of a beach is off the beaten path enough that it's not overrun like the state beaches, i.e., Jones Beach. Having surfed this break for a decade of my...More

Lovely stretch of soft sandy beach and the ocean. We couldn't get enough of the cool water and strong fun waves. We even got to walk our dog for about an hour. Saw lots of surfers on this particular beach.

Nice quiet beach for surfers. Grad an iced tea at the Ditch Witch and feel sit a few minutes and enjoy the vibe.

We enjoyed long walks on the beach from downtown Montauk and generally the beach sand was nice but sadly there were broken glass bottles & beer cans in spots. Really hate to see this. Take YOUR trash out please.

I was there off season, and this was such a wonderful stretch of beach to sit and read, watch the waves, go on walks with my dog. I imagine in-season, it's a great spot to watch surfers and sun bathe. Plus, it's in a super...More

Take the trip to Shadmoor instead. It is friendly, interesting and FREE. We were very disappointed that we would have risked a $200USD ticket if we parked to go to Ditch Plains. But, I get they are trying to protect residents of the area....

The views from the park and the paths along the plains offer stunning ocean views. Bring a camera and a sweater, it does get windy.

Yes Kevin, there is a lot adjacent to Ditch Plains which actually requires a Easthampton Permit, but I don't think you should have a problem this time of year [DEC.], but hay life is a gamble, so be guided, this is not a... More
