We came up here early in the morning so the mist was thick, and when the sun rose up and the mist cleared up a bit, a spectacle showed up - I saw my shadow cast in the mist and why spectacular? You only saw...More

Our tour guide took us to this park for about 20 minutes. It's nice but there isn't really that much to see. The "whirlpool" didn't even seem much like a whirlpool to me. There are bathrooms and it's free. Nice state park but no worries...More

The whirlpool there is not like in your wash machine, a little disappointed. But that is nice place to take pic with Niagara river!

Would definitely recommend hiking down the trial to the Whirlpool Rapids. To view it from the top and then make it to bottom and see things from that point view is absolutely amazing!! Definitely worth the hike and you WILL get your exercise!

Enjoyed the view. Made even better by the tour guide and his narrative. Great place to just sit and relax

This place is accessible on a bus/car ride from the main falls. This offers a mesmerizing view of the water current flowing down from the hills. Seems the water is flowing in the opposite direction, which is quite surprising. One tries to figure out, how...More

You can get very nice views of the whirlpool here and hike down the gorge. Since I've been a kid (last time here) a great wolf lodge has been built straight across in Canada to make the views a little less enjoyable. The cable car...More

We had no idea that the whirlpool goes in the opposite direction in the evening. We had an awesome tour guide Ricki from Gray Line that gave us the history.

We visited this park during the off season. The facilities weren't open. We still walked the rim trail. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was "gorge"ous! Nice flat trail overlooking the whirlpool.

Will be visiting in late June, and am wondering which State park I should visit for hiking and experience. I have read good reviews of three parks, but have some time restraints. How would you rank Devil's Hole State Park, Whirlpool State Park, and Niagara Gorge Trail for views, experience, and hiking?

They are all connected as a trail. If you start at Whirlpool State Park, you can go either way...toward the falls or Devil's Hole. If you want to walk down Devil's Hole leave a minimum of three hours for experienced hikers... More
