Float an hour away

A great and fun way to pass an hour is to just float and relax in the salt pools in this old volcano crater.

A fabulous hour at the salt lakes in the volcano crater, where salt was mined many years ago. As part of entry you can float/swim in the salt lakes, supposed to be. Eye good for the skin. It's amazing how you float and it's a struggle trying to stand in the water. Great time and definitely worth a visit.

This is a weird experience and is really worth a visit. It put a lot a smiles on faces. Bobbing around and not being able to stop bobbing certainly caused a lot of enjoyment. We covered ourselves in the mud, let it dry then had another soak. Skin felt really smooth. Facilities are ok for a quick shower and considering... More

Such a cool place to go and relax and just bob around in a place that's salter than the Dead Sea, so glad we went

We visited the salt crater as part a full day sightseeing tour of Cape Verde with Dream Tours and our guide Elvis was very knowledgeable and passionate about Cape Verde. Although we did not go into the crater Elvis arranged for us to see some spectacular views from the top of the crater. p.s. the same trip with Thomson's was... More

This was one of our stops on a "round the island" tour of Sal. Admission was 5 euros. From the car park you walk through a tunnel into the huge crater and then down to the salt lakes. I could not go in due to a minor injury but I noticed that changing facilities were very basic (unlike the Dead... More
