Went with 2 children and had managed expectations in advance. The proud tour guide was eager to show us the phases of the butterfly's life and although kept basic very interesting. He let our daughter have a butterfly on her nose, which was a big hit. The enclosed area for butterflies is small but contains a number of different species... More

The butterfly farm is small and nice. We receive a brief instruction according to the explanation we received. It all started with the idea of keeping the butterflies... More

The Butterfly center is few km away from the Jozani forest, which was excellent (see that review). Entrance fee was around 5$ and is a total waste of money and time. You see some cocoons and some grown butterflies in a space little bigger than a living room. Very boring.

Check it out, if you are nearby. You'll need a maximum of 30 minutes to see the place but still it's a nice small walk around plants and butterflies. You could say, it's a small garden, covered with net to prevent the butterflies from escaping. The entry fee is a bit on the high end, coming at 12k shillings (~... More

Not at all worth visiting and expensive to see dilapidated cages with butterflies in an unattractive environment.

This is a small, but well kept butterflygarden. You can enjoy several species. There is no restaurants around, so bring food and drinks.

We went to visit the butterfly center because it was very close to the Jozani Forest. We are glad we went. Our butterfly guide knew a lot about the butterflies and taught us a few things as well. it was interesting to see. There weren't as many butterflies as we expected, but we still enjoyed it!

The sanctuary is small but interesting and something to support as it involves the local villagers and brings an income and educates them about preserving nature.

If you are visiting Jozani, it is easy to swing by the butterfly centre as well. The centre is really small, and there is not so much to see. Nevertheless, it is cheap, and they give farmers money for brining in the eggs. They might even let you hold some butterflies.
