A little museum, lost in the maze formed by the narrow streets,we found it pretty hard. Many objects linked more or less to marine but nothing really spectacular(naval equipments, common figureheads, scale models, old naval licences and photos, knots models). You need about 30-40 minutes to see all.

Visiting Oia its an amazing experience and you need to spend some time in the Maritime Museum for the sailors history of the Aegean sea about some time ago, enjoy

This museum is filled with junk someone has collected. Some of it is old but it is so poorly labeled you can not tell what is what.

Going into the museum was just an afterthought which turned out to be a very positive choice. A lot to see, a lot to learn. I enjoyed the displays. Wish I would have had time to stay in there longer.

We read the reviews and weren't too excited prior for the Visit, but we changed our minds. While this is not to the scale of other Musuems, it's still interesting to see yester years artifacts..

This year it was my second time to live in Oia and i was always promising myself to visit the museum and I finally did it. The museum is quite nice and has not so many items from the maritim life of the Santorinian sailors, but are nicely exposed and with English explanations, which I really enjoyed reading and informing... Very interesting charting the development of Santorini's maritime history. Some of the exhibits had translations and this made it a more enjoyable visit.

It's a bit cramped and there aren't too many things. Nevertheless, it's worth visiting if, like me, you are into maritime stuff, sailing boats and the old merchant navy.

a lot of people in Santorini used to live by and from the sea. Merchants and other businessmen used Oia to gain money but they also made Santorini well known to many foreign countries
