First of all, I have never spent more than six minutes in Orient, NY, but when the ferry out of town is the number one thing to do, I think that there is a message here. Getting a reservation was easy. The boat was on time. The passenger area was austere, but clean. My dog enjoyed sleeping on the seat... More

There is tasty food on board; helpful staff and the ferry is dog friendly. A pleasant ride. Make reservations!

So much fun! I love this ferry. It reminds Me of when I was a little girl. It is so old fashioned and there is a very simple restaurant outdoors, near the ferry, modestly priced where you can have ice cream or a hot dog. There are other things to eat there too. I would suggest the simplest things to... More

Decent and smooth 1 1/2 hour trip across Long island Sound from New London to Orient Point and return aboard a clean ship with varied snack bar. Passengers can seat outside in many locations to enjoy the sun and water or inside and there seemed ti be plenty of room on trip over Wednesday and return trip Friday. Friday ship... More

Wonderful way to cross The Long Island Sound. The Ferry was clean, quiet, on time and the staff was polite and courteous. The food was not bad and the servers were very polite and helpful. We well use the Ferry again when we return to Orient Point.

Last minute crossing with our car was no problem. Staff and price were both nice saving over an hour drive. Cool experience from L.I. to New London, CT.

Double check your reservation. We booked round trip for Easter with two young children. It was leaving on Sunday and returning on Monday. Their computer system changed it to the same day. The clerk at the desk was dismissive and said we never showed up. When I said we are her for our reservation she yelled "dissatisfied customer!". Her supervisor... More

We were traveling from Boston to NYC and needed to make a stop on Long Island. Taking the ferry was a great alternative to driving to NYC and then back to our destination on LI. We joined the frequent users club to save 35% on our fare. Getting the boarding ticket was much easier than expected -- we just drove... More

This ferry is about 1.5-2 hours from Queens, NYC. It's a 80min ride to and from New London, great if heading to Boston or the casinos. A little pricy (though much more relaxing drive), with multiple passengers it gets more economical.
