Fun place to go when the weather is right. Make sure you bring quarters so you can feed the fish. I highly recommend bringing a little cup or baggy for the fish food. They are pellets and they easily fall out of the machine. There are a couple of ponds and trails near by as well. Make sure to check... More

This is a very popular attraction. I personally just don't get the fun in watching trout swim in a small pool but the youngsters seem to delight so it is a great place to take small fry. And you can purchase fish food to feed the fish as well. Best of all, it's free. Yet there's so much more to... More

Took my 5 and 3 year old grandkids there one morning. They were thrilled feeding the fish. Just bring quarters to buy fish food from the machines. This will be a regular trip this summer.

My young daugher (and I) really enjoy this fish hatchery. This is a gem in Powder Mills Park. She loves to feed the trout, even more when they splash her.

If you have little kids this is a great stop in Powder Mill Park. This is where through the years fish are raised and then released into the wild. At one time it was part of the park system but Riedman(Insurance Associates) became a great benefactor to the community and now is the prime source of funding. There are literally... More

This place is so fun to take little ones too. You can feed the fish and they jump out of the water and splash and the kids just think its great. There is also a little pavilion and bbq you can use to have a picnic

This is a beautiful part of Powder Mills Park. There are ponds around the Fish Hatchery with a blue heron keeping watch. There are also hiking trails and cabins.

I've not seen these in other cities or towns. Within this beautiful park are around twelve cement in-ground tanks where trout are grown and eventually released into the Irondequoit Creek. Fish food quarter-fed machines are near the tanks and you can feed the fish who clamor to get the food thrown into the water. Ducks and geese swim on the... More

It never gets old coming to the hatchery to feed the fish. The tanks have little plaques to tell you the age of the fish and what type they are. It is such a fun and interactive experience. You can have a lot of fun and it is just .25 cents a handful of fish food! Definitely worth a stop!

This little fish hatchery has been around for many years. It's open to the public - no charge and visitors can see large holding ponds of trout (several species) growing and thriving until they are released into local streams for fishermen (and women) to catch.
