I visited with my brother who is an historic aircraft preservation history buff. We were there on a quiet weekend day about an hour before closing and the staff was really kind. They were loading up a truck but when done they answered lots of questions and took us around to see some of the highlights. My brother is involved... More

This is a great place for those who love history and airplanes!! Summer is the best time to go since the air show happens then.

We were on our way back to upstate New York when we decided to visit the Aerodrome. After a pleasant drive through the woods we came to the museum. Since it was late October the air shows were over for the year. We very much enjoyed the trip through the past, and admired the old planes and automobiles. Four large... More

This is a fun place to visit. The setting is beautiful, and there are lots of old airplanes and cars in various states of (dis)repair. The one drawback is that the curation isn't great, especially for the cars. But it still is fun to visit.

The setting is great -- in the woods, with large hangars housing some fantastic aviation artifacts. These are the kind that must have inspired the folks who did the sets for Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang. Or perhaps Ian Fleming himself! Cut canvas stretched over wires and rods certainly inspired my kids imagination. I left wishing that I knew how to sketch. For small... More

An interesting and unique place with lots of old biplanes. We were unable to stay for the airshow. A bit overpriced but if the admission helps restore more of these vintage aircraft, fine.

If you've ever wondered how early aviators performed their "barn storming" antics AND want to see old planes flying TODAY, you should make the trip to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in the picturesque Hudson River Valley...it will be a day spent re-living the history of early aviation. We happened to attend the WWI re-enactment weekend along with hundreds of others.... More

I don't have any particular interest in aviation, but I like history and "old stuff", and there's plenty to see here. Lots of activity on the weekends, and a beautiful location just to walk around and take in the ambiance. Make sure you don't miss the three hangars and the museum on the hill behind the parking area, on the... More
