great place for a public event

I came here for a movie screening, and a festival recently, it was very nice, spacious and surprisingly accommodating to a large crowd.

This was built in an era of impersonal concrete architecture so it always feels very unemotional and cold. However, it can be useful for music and other events so it has some redeeming value.

Located next to the STRONG museum of play, this place is a great before or after museum run and around or skate. My boys love it, 3 and 5 year old.

this is where they have moved the party in the park - while it is a better location, the stage is at the bottom of a hill - so in order to get a drink or further back from stage, you have to go straight up and then you no longer see the stage.. but it is a decent place... More

This was the first time I've ever come to this park to see a concert, and I did have a good time. The park used a stage that was set up facing a hill for their "Party in the Park" series, which featured Victor Wooten, an amazing bass player. A good time was had by all, although I'm not sure... I love skating here! It's the perfect place to go in winter because after skating you can go to Java's for hot chocolate and hang with friends. The rink is a good size and the view looks magical with falling snow at night, which is when I like to skate. The location is perfect with everything else around the rink... More

Went to the Big Apple BBQ, where there was excellent BBQ food and live bands playing in the park. Great day out.

My husband and I went ice skating here on a Thursday afternoon. I loved that the rink was entirely outdoors! Very beautiful on a sunny day. Staff was friendly and funny and even let us use the plastic "walkers" that are usually for kids (this was only our second time skating). Fun music played as we skated. What a fun... More

Note - before I start this review, the name of this park had been changed to Martin Luther King Park. We visited this park to do some ice skating with a group of my daughter's friends for her birthday. The park is nicely maintained, and the ice is kept fresh via the use of a Zamboni. It is never overcrowded,... More

We were attracted to the music playing in the park yesterday, so we strolled over and found a festival going on. This park is so unusual because it is downtown, and contains more concrete areas than grass. But still, it is filled with iconic "things" such as sculptures and other creations that seem to take over the skyline. It's all... More
