Small but impressive

Not the biggest museum in town, but well appointed and fun for kids 3-12. The gift shop has some cool and unique items. The IMAX theater is the best feature for folks of all ages.

The facility is top of the line Planetarium, pick the right show, some are geared to children some to adults. We learned alot about Jupiter during our visit. Next door to the Science museum so you can combine the trip.

Honestly this is the best part of the RMSC. Be sure to check out times and suggested ages for their shows since I doubt a two year old would enjoy a Pink Floyd show (not judging though). Kick your feet up and enjoy the show for sure!

First of all, the facilities, equipment, price, comfort, etc. are top notch. Our party was grandpa, father and 3 sons, 3 to 11. The billed show was "Other Worlds Like Ours" about our efforts to find other habitable planets. Since we only found one, there was not much to say, but the process and telescopes were interesting. That being said,... More

Great planetarium. Check out the laser shows with music and the films they show there. Awesome place for all ages. The Christmas laser show is so festive and beautiful.

When I was in elementary school we use to take field trips to the planetarium yearly. I use to LOVE being there as a child and young teenager. Last year while I was visiting family in Rochester, I took my children and my dad to the planetarium. My kids had a good time, but I did not so much. I... More

A theater in the round with comfortable seats with audio. Best place to see the stars shows. You can also view the stars through the telescope. Check their website for times and details.

We thought the Planetarium was going to be as good as the museum next door, but sadly, it was not even close. The only thing in there that was of any interest, was the 35 minute movie in the auditorium. It was interesting, but somewhat boring for children under 10 yrs. old. I even found myself wishing it was over.... More

I was in Rochester with my wife and son. I had meetings in the morning and left them on their own. They went here. (I have them next to me as I write this review). I met them there afterward and my 9 yr. old was pumped. I asked him how it was and the title was his first statement.... More

Star shows, laser shows, and nature movie selections provide plenty of variety. Hands-on exhibits in the circular hallway outside the planetarium offer additional interest. We are so fortunate to have this resource in our moderate-sized city, when many much larger cities don't have anything comparable. School holidays see an uptick in traffic volume, but it is generally easy to get... More
