Beautifully packaged and presented private labeled, sometimes locally made, upscale toiletries/bath products, edibles ( hard to find locally made delectable cheeses, sauces, jams), kitchen accents, giftables, wearable accessories and home decor on 2nd floor. Unique assortment of items grounded in wholesome ingredients from the earth & nature designed to uplift & feed positive energies. Be forewarned - prices are high,... More

This store has beautiful homemade products and repurposed decor. The first floor is bath and food goods. We bought some bath products. They are made from natural ingredients and smell amazing. In all honesty prices are "high" in comparison to a generic place like bed bath in beyond. However you can't truly compare them to commercial products because of the... More

Thank you for stopping in to our Mercantile! Yes our products are made with lots of love and time and special attention to detail. We source many items from crafters in our own backyard who source the raw materials locally as well. We are a community that supports each other and originality, and our products and prices reflect that. Many... More

I love all the products especially at the Mercantile store where you can't get everything online especially in Canada. The staff was very helpful and everything was so amazing you want to buy everything LOL

This attraction is what brought me, my son and his partner to Sharon Springs. I've used their products from the time they first came out. Among other things, Christmas is a time of gift-giving (think fabulous soaps & toiletries), so my friends and family also get to enjoy them. Some will say that items here are over-priced, but not I.... More

A fan of the Fabulous Beekman Boys on television or just passing through on the way to Cooperstown and points beyond? It's worth your time to divert to this little town and visit the Mercantile. You'll find gifts for most tastes, yummy treats, and luxuries small and large. From the television offerings, you might think that the store is larger... More

What a waste of time. Overpriced jams, nick nacks, soap and furniture and decorative items upstairs. Saw a $150 throw pillow and $40 trowel. Really!! I didn't see a single person make a purchase. I wouldn't recommend even going in to kill time.

Thank GretchenDT
Management response:

Hi Dennis & Tammy, We're sorry you didn't enjoy your visit with us. We try to offer items for every budget level, and our artisans set the prices that they feel is fair for their time and effort. Handmade goods are usually more expensive than mass-produced items, but we feel the value is worth it. Hope you found some other... More

We found the Beekman 1802's caramels in December 2015 at the Lenox Hotel of Boston. We bought some boxes with nice artisanal plates for the christmas time. Now we will go at Sharon Springs for a weekend in September. Happy to visit.

Gorgeous store and so well styled. Not surprisingly the founders are a lifestyle brand of their own with a website, a reality TV show, blogs, etc. One was a Martha Stewart accolyte and it shows. Sadly, not too much to buy. Just how much soap and artisanal canned goods does one need? The upstairs goes to the other extreme and... More

Typical old-fashioned mercantile that features handmade items and canned food items that are rarely found anywhere else. Additionally, there are a handful of unique one-of-a-kind items for sale. I have been to this location multiple times. The cuatomer service is always personal and outstanding.
