KyKuit is the feature attraction in the Rockefeller Estate, some of which is still private family owned. Kykuit is lavish and sprawls with spectacular views, ubt for the most part tasteful and restrained, at least for such a wealthy famly. It's exterior is to my mind not so grand as the more ostentious wealth of other grandeees. There's an office/study... More

Kykuit is of course the Rockefeller house one of their several homes. When I go through these houses are usually don't take the tour are usually just walk through and see what I can say. Sometimes I catch up to a tour and listen to what they are saying in this particular case I won't get following a tour and... More

The Rockefeller House is magnificent. I've been on this tour over a dozen times and learn something new every time. I particularly like the Picasso tapestries and the converted horse barn. The views of the Hudson can't be beat! Very enjoyable.

Went on a beautiful day in November for the classic tour of house and garden. The house is so very elegant and the tour interesting. Prepare yourself for some frustration because all the rooms are roped off so in some cases all you can do is peak inside or jostle with other tour guests for a peak. It's quite frustrating.... More

Amazing place year round. The views of the Hudson and the Palisades are spectacular any time, and somewhat more grand in the winter when the leaves are down. Though of course the gardens and grounds are resplendent and full in the summer. Still, the interior is beautiful and well designed and the "museum" of modern art, where the Rockefellers started... We took a train from the Grand Central to the north along the Hudson river. It takes about an hour. Then by taxi we've to the estate. It's just Wow! The building, the design, the interior, the park, everything there made there with the exceptional taste.

The grounds were beautiful and well manicured. The house tour was very interesting. Lots of history in our own backyard. Would definitely recommend you take the tour.

The tour may not have been intended as a love letter to the Rockefellers, but the reminders of all the good things they have done for our country (and continue to do) made it hard to resent them for having such a lovely family home as Kykuit. I took the standard tour and found it to be more than adequate... More
