This is our favorite beach on LI as it is accomadating for both an ocean side as well as the bay. It is clean, safe, adequatly patroled by Park Police, has food attractions and showers and bathrooms. It is generally a good place to bring the kids and has parking approximatley a quarter to half mile from the water. Waves... More

For the price of a parking fee, You can take a carload of people into this beautiful, clean, and in season, well supervised beach, with the best of life guards and just get away from it all. It is wonderful even when crowded, on the hottest of days you can always find your own little patch of sand, during weekdays... More

Miles and miles of white sand, a Boardwalk, fresh air, and the ocean, what more could anyone want, oh yes plenty of parking. While walking West enjoying the solitude with perhaps three other people just imagine 20 miles away are thousands and thousands of people scurrying around the city. Incredible, what a treasure!

Jones Beach Boardwalk is a great place to take a stroll and enjoy the view of ocean during any season. In the summer there are concession stands to get ice cream and food.

In February - so not alot of people around. Lots of parking, though, for high season. I would come back anytime. Roads are rough. Lots of potholes.

I've come to Jones Beach many times this was the weirdest time I've ever been there. There was a guy standing outside the parking lot with a bullhorn screaming "Nooooo, Noooooo" when I try to park my car. I told him he had the personality of a brick, and this job wasn't for him. That being said we had a... More

You can get there by bus but it would be better to have a car. You can take the train from Manhattan Penn Station to Freeport Station and then transfer to the bus to Jones Beach. There are other beaches on the Atlantic that are easier to get to from Manhattan. You can go to Long Beach which has direct... More
