Beautiful early nineteen hundreds building in downtown Watertown NY. Large book collection and several rooms containing history of the surrounding area in museum like surroundings. Being a resident of Watertown I have visited many times.

Beautiful building -- exceptional for this small city. It is a good, solid library for the size of the city.

Had an excellent visit to this marvellous early 20th c building; hubby and I had an enjoyable quiet time in one of the rooms reading current and last year's magazines on several different topics of interest; love the quality of construction; the library staff were very co-operative and friendly and patient (especially as the internet was not working today so... The Roswell P. Flower Memorial Library is a wonderful treasure in the middle of Watertown. The architecture is classical, the art is engaging, and the history takes you back to a very different time. Be sure to enter into the actual library for a walking tour booklet. The booklet lets you know about the artists, the occasions for the memorials,... More

A very special place in this community. We are from NM but always visit when we're in the area. The DAR room is a treasure & we attended a meeting. The Historical Society is very helpful in the genealogy area of the library. Don't miss the picture of local author Marietta Holley on the main floor. We love this place!

Was what Hillary Clinton supposedly said on a visit to this 1903 library dedicated to Watertown's most prominent son. Ten ionic Grecian columns grace the front of the building, and upon entry, one is surprised by a spacious beautiful rotunda (marble everywhere), topped by a central dome. Visible from the ground floor is the open mezzanine, with offers seating for... More

I already needed to spend some study time at the library and had already read that it was a historical building so that was a bonus. I went back my second day in town so I could actually spend time looking more closely at the paintings, the statues, architecture and themed rooms much closer. The staff is very nice, knowledgeable... More

I love this library so much! It is in a historical building that is decorated with original artwork, statues, monuments, paintings and furniture. There are different rooms where you can sit and read and imagine you live there because some of the rooms are designed like living rooms or reading dens. There is an abundance of all kinds of books... More

The building is nice, pretty, clean. The staff seemed uptight, aloof, and not exactly friendly. They do not smile much ! Almost get the feeling that most of them do not really enjoy what they do. Sad.
