The island is rich with history.
It is now a good place to visit, enjoy swimming, enjoy food from the restaurant.
It is also amazing to see the protected species, ( tortoise), the oldest being 194 years..

If you got to Zanzibar and you miss seeing the Giant Tortoises you'll regret it. Go! Not necessary to have a tour guide as there is some info on the island, but you can also do a quick research before or after you go ;)

It is $4 per person to go into the tortoise sanctuary but you don’t have to pay to go around the island (there isnt much to see to be honest but it is stunning) Boat drivers will change more if you want to snorkel and will rent you their equipment. Even if you have your own, it will still cost extra as a snorkel stop means you are out on the boat longer and I guess time is money
