Best Thing to Do in Uganda

I cannot recommend this enough. If you do one thing in Uganda, you need to go Gorilla Trekking. It's a little pricy, yes, but it is worth every penny. We went up into the park with a guide and a couple guys to protect us from other wild animals, and you literally go hiking through raw rainforest to reach the... More

I came here to hike Sabyinyo and booked with the UWA office in Kisoro the day before. The staff were incredibly professional, and my guide, Ellen, was patient and knowledgeable. I hurt my knee on the hike up and she made sure I was okay coming down. She also pointed out a chameleon to me, which made me SO happy!... More

Mgahinga only has one gorilla family, but that also means that you and your group will be the only one tracking it on any given day... and with five silverbacks it's a pretty interesting family at that! It's pretty steep here, but otherwise straight-forward enough.

we came here to see the golden monkeys (we had already seen gorillas at Bwindi) and I am so glad that we did. The park is gorgeous, steep trail up to the bamboo forested area with fresh buffalo tracks everywhere and some spectacular views en route. Also saw a forest duiker and some fabulous birds. Our guides Joylene and Lucky... More

Trekking and seeing golden monkeys was one of the top adventures of our 2 week trip to Uganda. After a fabulous and solid hike (for those who are in pretty decent shape), my husband and I along w/ guides, trackers ad rangers, came upon up to 50 golden monkeys -- beyond beautiful animals (which I didn't expect!). Staff assured we... More

We did 2 days of gorilla tracking. It was the most memorable experience. Guides, trackers and rangers are fantastic and having a porter to help you with the trek into the forest was invaluable & highly recommended. An amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience!!

In 2016 I visited the gorillas at the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Its an unforgettable experience and one I am thrilled to have had. And I would go back for more. I am a photographer and wanted to come home with a broad selection of images. This was communicated to those organizing the treks. Most people do one trek -... More

Our tour guide Yonaha was very good. He answered all our questions and offered us a lot of information! Yonaha and Ezra went out of their way to make sure we saw and enjoyed our one hour time with the golden momkeys. Our porters did a great job carrying our packs and making sure I didn't slip. The Silverback Gorillas... More

Simply a breath taking trek to see the magnificent silver back gorilla's. The Rangers and porters went out of their way to make our gorilla experience exceptional, our 82 year old auntie was carried up the mountain via a day bed to ensure her dream of seeing these great apes in their own habitat was fulfilled, can't get any better... This is the place to go for Golden Monkeys. It sounds anticlimactic after a day of gorilla trekking, but they are really fun to watch! Strongly recommend.
