We haven't been on the Seneca Lake Trail in over eight (8) years. It was every bit as good as we remember. The wine offerings were extensive, the tastings plentiful and the hosts at each winery were welcoming and extremely helpful. Thank you for a great sampling of the best New York has to offer!

This year's Deck The Halls event was as good as past years. Approximately 35 wineries participated, offering a food pairing with one of their signature wines. An additional three wine samplings were offered at most wineries (someofferedmore). The traditional grapevine wreath was included with each winery providing an ornament for the wreath. Most were very nice ornaments, but some were... More

Thank you for posting your detailed review about our popular event, and we are genuinely sorry to hear your thoughts on the ornaments, but hope that in future events there will be ornaments more to your liking. More

We stayed from Saturday through Monday. Must have been to about 25 wineries ! The wine was so delicious and every winery is so different. I loved Miles Winery, the view was spectacular- right on the lake. Also loved Ravines Wine Cellars and we ate at Ravines Kitchen - delicious. If you live in the NJ/NY area - this is... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to submit this detailed, enthusiastic review! Hopefully next time you visit it'll be the summer time, and you'll be able to also enjoy Miles Wine Cellars' dock tasting room, down by their beach. More

We spent the weekend with friends enjoying the Deck the Halls event on the Seneca Lake Wine trail. We have done this in years past and always enjoyed our visit. We found lots of our old favorites as well as some new wines and wineries to enjoy. We stayed in Penn Yan at Trimmer House B&B which made for the... More

The wine trail at Seneca Lake includes many wineries. The map published by the wine trail failed to include many wineries. There are a ton of places to drink, but there are minimal other things to do to break up the day. The trail would benefit from including other activities along the trail.

Unfortunately we are a member-based organization, and not all tasting rooms on Seneca Lake are also members of our wine trail and therefore aren't noted on our maps or in our brochure. And we are sorry that the lack of other activities negatively impacted your experience visiting our 35 member wineries. We hope that you'll choose to return again someday... More

Deck The Halls Wine Trail Review. A total of 10 of us decided this year to do the Deck The Halls wine trail around Seneca lake. We have been to the Wineries around Seneca Lake before at this time of year, but paid for wine tasting as we visited each winery. The cost was $40 per person or $30 per... More

We very much appreciate you taking the time to provide this detailed review, and are sorry to hear that you were so disappointed with our Deck The Halls Weekend event. On the event not starting earlier on Friday: many wineries use the morning to complete preparation for the event, and are reluctant to start the event earlier. This is true... More

We took our annual Deck the Halls Wine Trail event around Seneca Lake and had a blast. The participants were friendly and inviting and they provided a great atmosphere for the event. Wine was pared with the food served at each winery and the people attending had a chance to taste a variety of wines. Of course you could purchase... More

Preferred the left side of the lake versus the right, but great wineries on each side. Start with a meal in Watkins Glen prior to starting up a side. Most of the ones we visited did not have for or anything to eat. Most give you a coupon with your testing to use on your wine purchase. And you can... More

some of the wineries charge you a fee for tasting, it is a good and bad thing cause there was a few wineries that we did not like any of what they offered, and the ones that you did like they took the fee for the taste test off the first bottle of wine you bought. To me its like... More

We are sorry you were frustrated by our industry's tasting fee policies and hope that you were able to find at least a few wines you could enjoy, and happily purchase a bottle. It is definitely true that most, if not all, wineries charge a tasting fee of some sort, with some of them generously opting to credit that modest... More

Great wineries and breweries on this trail. All offer sampling. Friendly people offer information about the wines, beers and spirits. A bus tour will give you better sampling opportunities, otherwise a designated driver is a must.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this detailed, friendly review! We agree that it is usually a very good idea to have a designated driver, especially when visiting several wineries in one day. We hope you come back to visit again soon! More
