a place to relax and imagine how this place was full of life thousands years ago!! the scenery is very beautiful where you can see the river if you keep walking directly from the main entrance, it's a retreat in a very calm place where you can communicate with history and nobody disturbs you, there is a deep trench surrounding... More

We visited Deir Azzor and the ancient ruins of Dura Europos and Mari in March 2011. It is already a special experience to stay in Deir Azzor, it is a region very different from other Syrian cities. Tourists do not come in crowds (compared to Damaskus or Aleppo), so citizens are keen on trying their English with foreigners. Visiting Dura... More
