Spectacular beach

Lovely walk from the boat, the sea is a beautiful shade of blue. Refreshing for a swim but worth it. Sand is soft and usually warm

Just a few miles away from the 'mainland' of Guernsey, but it could be a thousand! The beach is made of of shell fragments brought by the Gulf Stream apparently. Perfect for swimming at high tide, when the waters recede, there are acres of flat sand. Visiting yachts lay at anchor, but somehow it is never crowded here. What's more,... More

A lovely wide open area of beach and sea. Kiosk available for hot and cold drinks and ice cream. Sandwiches freshly prepared. Toilets a 7 minute walk away. Very relaxing and pleasant walk.

Well worth a trip to here if your on one of the Channel Islands. Shell beach is beautiful and covered in the most beautiful little shells, hence the name. Can get busy when the weather is warm but there is always room to escape others. Take care of visiting Herm if it's sunny as you are guaranteered a sun tan... More

Why travel thousands of miles for a beach like this when this one is just under 200 miles from London!! Never overcrowded and the colours are amazing.

Shell beach really is a jewel within a jewel. Anyone who ignores Herm in the winter needs their heads seen to - a great place to quickly shed the stress and strains of our dual time

I don't think you can beat the sweeping coastline and seascape of Shell Beach. As a local this is one of my favourite places in the Channel Islands. A beach kiosk sits tucked away for snacks and ice creams in the summer months. Clean, unspoilt, never crowded, it's is stunning.

I visited on a lovely sunny day in October. The water is clean, the beach is stunning. There are many shells, but as previous reviewers have said, few are whole and the result is a beach of very fine broken shells, almost like coarse grain sand. I came onto the beach from the round the island coastal walk, which is... More

There are no superlatives good enough to describe this little piece of Paradise. Walking along the coast path on Herm, you know that there is a beach made up of white 'sand' which is mainly powdered shells, but nothing prepares you for the reality. If you have the chance - visit Herm, and go to Shell (and Belvoir!) Beach

The trip from Guernsey (about 20 mins) is good in its own right but the walk around the coast (about 2 hours) is fabulous topped off by the view of Shell Beach. We were so lucky to go during that sunny and relatively warm first week in October. We had this whole beach almost to ourselves (kite surfers were playing... More
