A perfect blue sky, white sand and a refreshingly cool dip at The Basin. Sublime. There's something special about the water at The Basin and it is always a friendly small crowd. Enjoy!

On a good sunny day, this is heaven. Clear blue waters. White sands. Some rocky bits but not really an issue. There was a spot with a strong current heading out so I would be cautious there. Toilets and change rooms nearby.

After our bike ride around Rottnest Island - which is a must for any visitor - we rode back to 'The Basin' which was the most beautiful and sheltered spot out of all the stunning bays we rode past. The colours of the water were magnificent, as good as anything you see overseas. I was able to dive down and... More

You can't visit Rotto without a trip to the basin. The water is crystal clear and the temperature is warm. Bring your snorkel so you can see the fish that live around the shallow reefs. Close enough to walk to from Thompsons Bay. One of Western Australia's best swimming locations without a doubt!

Have to visit here, we rode bikes there even though we could have walked. Surprised to see two life guards set up there, great, beautiful little spot you need to be with your kids if they are small as a little deep. Has shade too.. a must see !!!

Loved spending time here the water is amazing, great for snorkelling and there was also life guards on duty and a shaded cover with a couple of picnic tables unlike other beaches. A must see!

Pristine. Saw octopus, sting ray, many fish. Get there early as becomes busy. Super spot. Great for young kids to old

Short walk to The Basin from the ferry terminal. Hubby and I spent our afternoon at this beautiful beach. We took a sun shelter thankfully as it's quite hot at the beach. A beautiful beach with toilets and change facilities on the hill. We set up to the far right on the beach and snorkelled right around to the Basin... More
